Young Hearts, Big Impact: How Kids Like Zachary and Sofi Inspire Us

Sofi

At My Stuff Bags Foundation, we’re continually impressed by the acts of kindness that come from young people who want to help disadvantaged children. Recently, we were touched by Zachary, who, for his Bar Mitzvah service project, chose to give back in a truly meaningful way. Instead of focusing solely on his own celebration, Zachary decided to shine a light on children in need. Zachary and his friends got together to make our No-Sew Fleece Tie Blankets, then joined us on-site to stuff My Stuff Bags.

Another amazing example of a young person making a difference is Sofi. Despite being born with a rare genetic disorder and spending much of her time in hospitals, Sofi and her mom recognized the importance of spreading joy. At just 7 years old, Sofi runs Snail Mail by Sofi, sending small packages of happiness to children in need. We recently received a donation of her “Joy Packs,” which include items like coloring books, crayons, stickers, and play dough.

Both Zachary and Sofi remind us of the incredible impact that young hearts can have. Their efforts will help bring smiles and comfort to the abused, homeless, and displaced children we serve—showing that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. If you’re inspired by their stories, check out our Partner with Us page to see how you can give back.
