Off-Site Community Collaboration: How Students, Companies, and Groups are Making No-Sew Blankets for our Cause
One of the most meaningful ways companies and organizations can support our mission off-site is by creating No-Sew Fleece-Tie Blankets. These blankets are the heart of every My Stuff Bag, which we distribute to 20,000 abused, neglected, and homeless children across the country each year.
Last month, Amgen hosted an off-site Global Zoom Event, where employees from around the world joined virtually to make fleece tie blankets. This event not only allowed employees to give back but also served as a team-building activity, fostering connections across global branches.
Also in February, Ms. Beutner’s 3rd-grade class at St. Jude’s The Apostle School read a book about a child in foster care, then participated in a blanket-making activity. Our Development Coordinator, Sydney, went into the class to tell the students about our mission and impact. The students gained a deeper understanding of how they can make a positive impact on children facing similar challenges to the protagonist in the book.

Bank of America Simi Event
Bank of America hosted a Corporate Blanket-Making Event at their Simi Valley headquarters. Bank of America executives came together to make fleece tie blankets, further showing their commitment to supporting children in need.
These off-site events show how blanket-making lets anyone, no matter their location, make a difference. You don’t need to be near our headquarters to get involved and support children in need.
